Sheepskin Care

With a little routine care, a genuine sheepskin stays soft, full, and beautiful for years.

Everyday care

  • Shake and air it regularly to keep the fleece full and lofty.
  • Brush gently with a wide-tooth comb or wool brush to lift and separate the wool.
  • Keep it out of harsh, direct sunlight — dyed colors can fade under UV. Ivory is undyed and the most light-stable.

Spot cleaning

For small marks, dab (do not rub) with a damp cloth and a little wool detergent diluted in cool water. Wipe with a clean damp cloth and let it dry naturally, away from direct heat or radiators.

Washing

If a full wash is needed, hand-wash in cool water with a dedicated wool or sheepskin shampoo. Never use hot water, bleach, or regular detergent, and do not tumble dry — heat damages the hide and felts the wool. Lay flat to dry, away from heat, and gently brush as it dries to restore the loft.

What to avoid

  • Hot water, tumble drying, or drying on a radiator.
  • Bleach, harsh detergents, or dry-cleaning solvents.
  • Wringing or scrubbing the fleece.
  • Prolonged direct sunlight.

Storage

Store it clean and dry, in a breathable space out of direct sun. Give it a shake before use to bring the fleece back to life.
