More about our sheepskins+

Our white sheepskin rugs are all one shade: Ivory. It is the natural, undyed colour of the Merino fleece, so it is a soft, warm white rather than a bleached one. Every skin here is genuine New Zealand sheepskin on a natural suede hide.

Why Ivory is the one to buy for a bright room

Ivory is undyed, which makes it by far the most light-stable shade we sell. Dyed skins react to UV and lose depth in harsh, direct sun over time. Ivory does not have that problem, so it is the shade to choose for a sunny living room, a conservatory, or anywhere near a big window.

Because nothing has been added to the fleece, tone varies a little from skin to skin and across a larger rug. Some are closer to cream, some closer to a clean white. That variation is the honest sign of a real hide rather than a printed copy.

Every size comes in Ivory

Curly has a short, tightly curled fleece that keeps its shape underfoot. Longwool has a deep pile of about 2 to 3 in. Sizes are approximate, since every skin is shaped by the animal it came from, and the size guide has the detail.

Keeping a white sheepskin clean

A pale skin shows marks sooner, but sheepskin resists dirt better than most people expect, because the lanolin in the fleece repels it. Shake it, air it, and brush the wool. For a full clean, hand wash in cool water with a wool shampoo and dry it flat, away from heat. Orders ship from within the USA, shipping is free over $99, and returns are open for 30 days.
